^15 (A)one bull from the herd, one ram, one male lamb a year old, for a burnt offering; ¹⁶ one male goat for a ^(B)sin offering; ¹⁷ and for ^(C)the sacrifice of peace offerings, two oxen, five rams, five male goats, and five male lambs a year old. This was the offering of Nahshon the son of Amminadab.

¹⁸ On the second day ^(D)Nethanel the son of Zuar, the chief of Issachar, made an offering. ¹⁹ He offered for his offering one silver plate whose weight was 130 shekels, one silver basin of 70 shekels, according to the shekel of the sanctuary, both of them full of fine flour mixed with oil for a grain offering; ²⁰ one golden dish of 10 shekels, full of incense; ²¹ one bull from the herd, one ram, one male lamb a year old, for a burnt offering; ²² one male goat for a sin offering; ²³ and for the sacrifice of peace offerings, two oxen, five rams, five male goats, and five male lambs a year old. ⁵⁴ These are their dwelling places according to their ^(A)settlements within their borders: to the sons of Aaron of the ^(B)clans of Kohathites, for theirs was the first lot, ⁵⁵ to them they gave Hebron in the land of Judah and its surrounding pasturelands, ^56 (C)but the fields of the city and its villages they gave to Caleb the son of Jephunneh. ^57 (D)To the sons of Aaron they gave the cities of refuge: Hebron, Libnah with its pasturelands, Jattir, Eshtemoa with its pasturelands, ⁵⁸ Hilen with its pasturelands, Debir with its pasturelands, ⁵⁹ Ashan with its pasturelands, and Beth-shemesh with its pasturelands; ⁶⁰ and from the tribe of Benjamin, Gibeon,^[a] Geba with its pasturelands, Alemeth with its pasturelands, and Anathoth with its pasturelands. All their cities throughout their clans were thirteen.

^61 (E)To the rest of the Kohathites were given by lot out of the clan of the tribe, out of the half-tribe, the half of Manasseh, ten cities. ⁶² To the Gershomites according to their clans were allotted thirteen cities out of the tribes of Issachar, Asher, Naphtali and Manasseh in Bashan. ^63 (F)To the Merarites according to their clans were allotted twelve cities out of the tribes of Reuben, Gad, and Zebulun. ^64 (G)So the people of Israel gave the Levites the cities with their pasturelands.

Why Will You Die, Israel?

¹⁰ “And you, ^(A)son of man, say to the house of Israel, Thus have you said: ‘Surely our transgressions and our sins are upon us, and ^(B)we rot away because of them. ^(C)How then can we live?’ ¹¹ Say to them, ^(D)As I live, declares the Lord God, ^(E)I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live; ^(F)turn back, turn back from your evil ways, ^(G)for why will you die, O house of Israel?

^12 (H)“And you, son of man, say to ^(I)your people, ^(J)The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him when he transgresses, ^(K)and as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall by it when he turns from his wickedness, ^(L)and the righteous shall not be able to live by his righteousness^[a] when he sins. ¹³ Though I say to the righteous that he shall surely live, yet ^(M)if he trusts in his righteousness and does injustice, none of his righteous deeds shall be remembered, but in his injustice that he has done he shall die. ¹⁴ Again, ^(N)though I say to the wicked, ^(O)‘You shall surely die,’ yet ^(P)if he turns from his sin and does what is just and right, ¹⁵ if the wicked ^(Q)restores the pledge, ^(R)gives back what he has taken by robbery, and walks ^(S)in the statutes of life, not doing injustice, he shall surely live; he shall not die. ^16 (T)None of the sins that he has committed shall be remembered against him. He has done what is just and right; he shall surely live.

¹⁷ “Yet ^(U)your people say, ^(V)‘The way of the Lord is not just,’ when it is their own way that is not just. ^18 (W)When the righteous turns from his righteousness and does injustice, he shall die for it. ¹⁹ And ^(X)when the wicked turns from his wickedness and does what is just and right, he shall live by this. ²⁰ Yet you say, ‘The way of the Lord is not just.’ O house of Israel, ^(Y)I will judge each of you according to his ways.”

Jerusalem Struck Down

²¹ In the ^(Z)twelfth year ^(AA)of our exile, in the tenth month, on the fifth day of the month, ^(AB)a fugitive from Jerusalem came to me and said, ^(AC)“The city has been struck down.” ^22 (AD)Now ^(AE)the hand of the Lord had been upon me the evening before the fugitive came; and he had opened my mouth by the time the man came to me in the morning, so my mouth was opened, and I was no longer mute.

Jesus Cleanses Ten Lepers

^11 (A)On the way to Jerusalem ^(B)he was passing along between Samaria and Galilee. ¹² And as he entered a village, he was met by ten lepers,^{[a] (C)}who stood at a distance ¹³ and lifted up their voices, saying, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.” ¹⁴ When he saw them he said to them, “Go and ^(D)show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went they were cleansed. ¹⁵ Then one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, ^(E)praising God with a loud voice; ¹⁶ and ^(F)he fell on his face at Jesus' feet, giving him thanks. Now he was ^(G)a Samaritan. ¹⁷ Then Jesus answered, “Were not ^(H)ten cleansed? Where are the nine? ¹⁸ Was no one found to return and ^(I)give praise to God except this ^(J)foreigner?” ¹⁹ And he said to him, “Rise and go your way; ^(K)your faith has ^(L)made you well.”^[b]

Prayer for Spiritual Strength

¹⁴ For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, ¹⁵ from whom ^(A)every family^[a] in heaven and on earth is named, ¹⁶ that according to ^(B)the riches of his glory ^(C)he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit ^(D)in your inner being, ^17 (E)so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being ^(F)rooted and ^(G)grounded in love, ¹⁸ may have strength to ^(H)comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and ^(I)height and depth, ¹⁹ and to know the love of Christ ^(J)that surpasses knowledge, that ^(K)you may be filled with all ^(L)the fullness of God.
